About me:

I’ve been chased by a kangaroo on set, taken a punch from George Foreman, sung jingles to CMOs and ghostwritten articles for CEOs. I’ve worked years to make one commercial come to life, and once delivered a political ad overnight.

As a writer, creative director and communications strategist, my focus is on creating compelling, authentic stories that engage, resonate and persuade. Sometimes I get two minutes. Sometimes thirty seconds. Sometimes I get a few paragraphs.

Much of my experience has come as a creative director and writer in ad agencies, where I was lucky enough to be mentored by such creatives as Luke Sullivan (Hey Whipple, Squeeze This) and Susan Credle (former CCO of both FCB and Leo Burnett). As a manager of creative teams, I’ve taken what I learned from them and combined that with my experience teaching writing at Johns Hopkins, where I got an MA in Fiction Writing and was fortunate enough to study with Alice McDermott (Charming Billy) and Stephen Dixon (Frog).

As a political consultant, I’ve worked on national and state campaigns, from presidential to mayoral and everything in between. As a performance ad creative, I’ve created collaborative media plans to help mobile game makers take their apps to the next level. And as a communications strategist, I’ve created internal messaging for companies as large as McDonald’s. Now, as the media landscape changes, I’m creating more and more with generative AI. Whatever the tools, it still starts with a story.
